Whether you're marching for women's rights, the tea party, black lives matter or the March for Life, a good protest chant is the way to get the crowd pumped and your voices heard. Lou Perez went to the Women's March on Washington in Washington, DC and did his best to start a protest chant amidst crowds of activists waving signs. What's your favorite or funniest protest chant? Let us know in the comments and subscribe for more comedy videos every week! Overall, getting a protest chant started can be challenging. You don't want to be the only one shouting - how do you get your protest chant to rise above all the others? It's not easy, as Lou found out, where he enlisted people at the Women's March in Washington, DC demonstrating against Donald Trump's inauguration to help him get a chant going that would help carry over the next four years. First, there's the question of how long you sustain the chant, and whether the other people at the demonstration are onboard enough to keep shouting long enough for the bulk of the crowd to join in. Second, there's picking a chant that's novel enough to be interesting and get people excited to chant it. While old standbys like "Hey hey, ho ho" or "this is what democracy looks like" are all well and good, and "not my president" or "keep your tiny hands out of my underpants" are standbys for the anti-Trump progressive activist crowd, the funniest protest chants are the ones you can be most proud of. Do you have any advice, or do you prefer to just make protest signs? What do you think are the funniest protest chants? Let us know in the comments or by making a response video!
